Underground drainage systems, such as a French drain, will collect the water and drain it further out into your yard where it can't do any damage.
Take a Jet to Those Drains
If you don't want to be bothered with obnoxious drain odors and clogs, get your drains cleaned while the weather is still mild. A good cleaning will clear out all the nasty debris that's collected inside your drains over the past year. Things like rotten food particles, hair, and even fecal matter can really creating a nasty problem inside your drains. Drain cleaning will get rid of all that so you can rest easy.
Get a Good Look at Your Septic
If you've got a septic system, now's a really good time to get it inspected, especially if you're expecting a lot of rain this year. When the tank is empty, it's easier for your septic system to process all the extra water that might be coming it's way when the rains arrive. Not only that, but if you have your septic system serviced now, you won't need to worry about it for another three to five years.
